It’s here. And it’s big news. Huge.

It’s been confirmed that one of our favourite wine producers, Il Palazzone, will be flying in from Italy just for us, and most importantly - you!

In conversations about the ‘big guns of Brunello’ (which I like to have relatively frequently) it usually isn’t too long before the name Il Palazzone pops up. They are a winery that produces consistently excellent Brunello di Montalcino and a wonderful Rosso di Montalcino of exceptional value. On top of that, they offer a Super Tuscan (a wine that uses predominantly classic Bordeaux grape varietals), their own olive oil and a grappa. Ethical, skillful and traditional, Il Palazzone wines are great and we are super excited and feeling incredibly lucky to be welcoming yet another wine behemoth into the restaurant thanks to Rob at CH Wine Merchants and his grape led charm.

When is this happening I hear you ask? Well, on Thursday 7th February 2019, we will be hosting a wine pairing dinner here at Farmyard with Il Palazzone.

Aperitif and snacks on arrival at 7pm, then courses with 4 incredible wines for £60. If you can’t make that date or perhaps one night is just not enough, then our sister restaurant, The Dial House in Reepham, will be running the same format the night before on Wednesday 6th

These events sell out pretty promptly so please do get in touch with me as soon as you can if you’re keen to book. ben@farmyardrestaurant.com or call 01603 733188.

Wine pairing dinners are a great way to meet the producers and sample wines you may not normally choose to drink. It’s also just a bloody nice way to spend your time.

We look forward to seeing you then!

IN OTHER NEWS....
We’ve just launched a new burger: Dry aged beef burger, brioche, beef fat mayo, pickled green chilli. All made in house, (including the bun), cooked over charcoal and absolutely filthy. Delicious.

...to Anne J Barry for winning last month’s liquid lottery, please come and collect your bottle of Famille Perrin, Luberon Rosé, France.

As always, we pick one of our followers to receive a complimentary bottle of wine.

This month’s wine prize from
our favourite wine supplier Rob
at CH wines is:

Mirror Lake, Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough New Zealand

Lake Matheson in New Zealand has evolved over time to combine a selection of nature’s best ingredients. It’s clear mirror-like waters perfectly reflect the imposing icy peaks of Mount Tasman. This fresh, crisp Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc combines some of nature’s best gooseberry and passion fruit notes.

If you’d like to hear news from our sister company The Dial House, an elegant restaurant with rooms, situated in the heart of the Norfolk countryside then ‘sign up here’. This month they’re giving away free breakfasts. Just for living in Norfolk!
